The Spring Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) Board of Directors has approved a new grant for the Math Department. This grant was submitted by Barbara Gedmintas. The Math Department is expanding their Algebra I program to focus on students with basic or below basic skills.

The board approved a grant of $2,000 to improve the Algebra I program. This improvement includes cooperative learning activities, manipulations, Springboard Math activities and other teaching tools. The focus of the new program is to target students who are visual learners and create tools that help the student understand abstract concepts.

The SVEF board is excited to provide funding for this program.
